WDTC offers several types of tests in addition to traditional drug testing.

Drug testing is the core of our business. WDTC works with organizations of all sizes to help manage their drug testing needs with cost-effective and efficient programs. We offer both on-site and after-hours mobile drug testing options, and access to our coast-to-coast network of 17,000 testing facilities using your personal portal. A Medical Review Officer service (MRO) examines all DOT tests to ensure drug testing accuracy and reporting.

Our drug testing programs include:

  • Rapid results within 15 minutes if negative (Non-DOT)
  • Pre-employment
  • Random
  • Post-accident
  • Reasonable suspicion
  • Return to duty
  • Follow-up testing
  • Personal

DOT vs. non-DOT drug testing

We help our customers understand the different requirements between DOT and non-DOT drug testing. The primary difference is whether the individual’s job duties fall under DOT regulations. DOT alcohol tests flag concentrations of 0.02 or higher, while DOT drug tests look for five specific classes of drugs:

  • Cocaine
  • Opiates
  • Marijuana
  • PCP
  • Amphetamines
  • Methamphetamines

Non-DOT drug tests usually full under the discretion of the employer. Incidents reported to OSHA as work-related injuries or illnesses are the only required non-DOT drug testing situations.

Types of drug tests

WDTC offers several types of tests in addition to traditional urine testing.

Hair Testing

Hair tests can reveal a pattern of drug use within the past 90 days as opposed to the 30 days for a typical urine screen. This test shows whether drug use is chronic and if the individual has taken multiple drugs.

Saliva Testing

This type of non-DOT test involves placing an absorbent saliva collection device in an individual’s mouth so there is no need to wait for urination. Saliva tests are observed and can reveal more recent drug use than urine tests, often within an hour after drug use. DOT oral testing is coming soon.

Fingernail Testing

Nail clippings can show evidence of drug use 2-4 weeks following ingestion and up to six months after last usage.
